i haven't used K1000 in years, but as I recall it comes with a SAPI
version
of Eloquence, therefore you can use Window-Eyes with the SAPI driver but
as
Steve correctly pointed out, it is much slower and prone to crashing more
often, you'd be better off paying for and using the Eloquence that comes
built in to Window-Eyes as that is fully integrated.

I should point out that I have Eloquence linked to JAWS on my computer,
but
I had tried to activate it for Window-Eyes and failed before I did the
following.
Within Window-Eyes, I opened the Help menu and chose "Get more voices".
That
took me to the GW Micro site. The first button on the webpage let me
download an authorisation file that I installed and I was then able to go
to
the synth page of Window-Eyes settings, choose Eloquence and then activate
it.
Even if you can't use Eloquence, that page allows you to download the
English Microsoft Speech Platform voice, Hazel, which I prefer to the Zira
voice that ships with the free Window-Eyes.

Eloquence is a speech synthesizer, not a screen reader. The prices are
£25
for Eloquence if you want to add it, and £15 for dectalk access 32 which
also comes with window-eyes. Both synthesisers are included in the retail
version while if you use the Office offer version, the free synthesizers
ESpeak and Microsoft Speech are provided at no charge.

sounds promising, yes but i have to admit some skeptisim with regard
to anything Microsdfot gets theirn handson these days.
MS usually collaborate for two specific reasons
1) the suddenly free software( in this case windowseyes) may well be
short lived and nave no customer support ( this happened to a product
called Truepaint or something similar. the package had no customer
support and the company folded) 2( the only people who are likely to
benefit are Microsoft. not the end users or the company with whom MS
collaborate.
Having said that I am not saying the everythim MS does is bad, they
have got a few good points but the above caveats are worth bearing in
mind.
