Hi Steve.

Its a pain in the ass if I'm being honest, it doesn't always work either, sometimes I have to load up window-eyes, unload then reload it for it to recognise my copy of Office 365 even when the changes have been made. Its sloppy and GW had better improve the situation as I wont be using Window-Eyes on boot up until it is fixed.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Ibrahim,

I agree this is somewhat of a convaluted system and I have suggested they try to make it simpler.

All the best

Hi Saqib.

You need to run the GW Diagnostic tool and allow it to enable the Microsoft
License validation service for Window-Eyes to recognise Ofice 365, heaven
only knows why this is necessary, I struggled with the same problem for over
a week until GW finally came up with the solution. When Window-Eyes loads
as a demo, first make sure you have either ESpeak or Microsoft Speech as the
default synthesizer, you wont be able to use any others unless you have an
authorization file and have paid to use them. Next, bring up the apps menu
and select Window-Eyes diagnostics then Microsoft Office. The option to
enable the licensing service is in there, let it make the changes and accept
any user account control dialog boxes that pop up, reboot your system and
reload Window-Eyes, this fixes the problem.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi. I've installed Window-Eyes 8.4 for Office and it won't run as a
full version. Is there a catch? I have Office 365 on my machine.

Hi Shaun.

I suggest you take another look at the www.windoweyesforoffice.com
website,
there is a frequently asked questions section which explains how
technical
support can be obtained and the extra revenue generated from additional
voice purchases also helps. There will be no difference in the standard
of
support you will receive from gW, you will be treated just like a
customer
who has the full retail edition of Window-Eyes if you buy the support
packages.

All the best, Ibrahim.

sounds promising, yes but i have to admit some skeptisim with regard to
anything Microsdfot gets theirn handson these days.
MS usually collaborate for two specific reasons
1) the suddenly free software( in this case windowseyes) may well be
short
lived and nave no customer support ( this happened to a product called
Truepaint or something similar. the package had no customer support and
the
company folded)
2( the only people who are likely to benefit are Microsoft. not the end
users or the company with whom MS collaborate.

Having said that I am not saying the everythim MS does is bad, they have
got
a few good points but the above caveats are worth bearing in mind.

I object to having to pay hundreds of pounds just to use my computer.
This
sounds really promising.

  www.windoweyesforoffice.com

It's a totally free copy of WindowEyes that's available for anyone who
has
Microsoft Office.

  From their website:
GW Micro, in collaboration with Microsoft, is excited to provide people
who are blind, visually impaired, or print disabled with a completely
functional and free license of GW Micro's Window-Eyes screen reader.
Microsoft is offering customers who have a licensed version of Office
2010
or later the ability to download Window-Eyes, a screen reader for Windows
PCs, free of charge.
