I’ll try that.

Hi Alison
Perhaps try it with Voice Over turned off while using the app. That’s what I
do with Google Maps.

I tried it this afternoon in the car. First it didn’t work at all and then I
realised that I have my Iphone settings to WIFI only. Once I adjusted this,
then it worked very well, telling me about significant streets, buildings and
bus stops we were passing – although not all!
So far, I’m very pleased with it. The real improvement which I feel could be
made is that sometimes Voiceover is still talking when the app is giving
information. Perhaps a moment’s delay to allow for voiceover to stop would be
helpful.

Thanks Pete. That’s good. Yes I think I have motion detection set to on. I will
try it again next time I have the chance.

hi Amro,
this is what i thought at first as when trying it at home i soon noticed that i
had to hold the phone flat for it to work propperly.
but that is because i was standing still and just turning around.
in the tutorial it tells you that you only have to hold it this way if you are
standing still but as soon as you start walking you can put it in a pocket and
it should work correctly.
i haven't been out to try it as there's plenty of snow here and i have found
recently that my new young dog thinks snow and ice are obsticles and is hard
work when it is like this.
i can't remember exactly how it was worded but during the installation
you had to give permission for it to be able to recognise when you were on
transport automatically.
did you do that.
pete.
