The Kindle have both hardware and software incarnations. The latter is completely free and has some speech commands built in to allow reading of book material. Not all book material however can be read by the TTS however as for some publications it can be disabled. You can normally check before purchasing a title that it has TTS enabled for it. The hardware unit has speech and even something like a basic screen reader, however this is not turned on by default. The hardware units start at about £111 and can be obtained directly through Amazon and some high street outlets including Tescos. I am sure others will be able to fill in the detail. Regards.
