Hi Keith.
thanks for your message. The file the commands need to be pasted into is
not the downloads options file. it is a separate file called options
with no file extension in the end. I will email you off list shortly.
Very best wishes,
Mo.

Hi Mo,
I’ve just downloaded a get_iplayer file, and I’m afraid it is still in M4a format.
As far as I know, I have pasted the file into the Download History file, at the end, making sure it is all on one line.
All I hope is, this is the correct file, which I opened in Notepad.
Other files in this folder are:
Radio.cache
Radio.cache old
TV.cache
TV.cache old.
If I am doing something wrong, could you kindly point out what it is, please?
Best wishes,
Keith

Hi Keith.
Please drop me a note off list. I will send you a file you can paste in to the .get_iplayer folder containing the options.
mobeeniqbal@xxxxxxxxx <mailto:mobeeniqbal@xxxxxxxxx>
is where you'll find me.
cheers,
Mo.

Hi Mo,
Thank you for your reply.
I’ve found a file called “downward History, and am being prompted
for a file type to open this.
I choose Notepad, and have pasted your lines at the bottom.
On using Get_iplayer and downloading a file, it is still not in MP3.
What am I doing wrong, please?
Any further help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Best wishes,
Keith

Hi Keith.
You would need to edit your options file. It's in the .get_iplayer
folder in your user profile folder. My options file looks like the
following.
fileprefix <name> - <episode>
commandradio ffmpeg -i "<filename>" -c:v copy -c:a libmp3lame -b:a
128k -id3v2_version 3 -write_id3v1 1 -y "<dir>/<fileprefix>.mp3"
&& del "<filename>"
nopurge 1
subdir 1
This tells get_iplayer to convert each file it downloads from M4a
to MP3.
I hope that helps?
Cheers,
Mo.
