Hi all,

I have recently noticed a considerable increased on the spam emails I've been
receiving, but have also noticed that a number of messages from people I know
on another list have found their way into the Spam folder.

I recall that you are supposed to return any wanted mail to the Inbox, showing
that it's not spam; and I've done this now both online and offline, the latter
being my preference. However, online there is an option to "delete spam items
forever" and, in order to keep the messages down that are in that box, I've
been deleting (hopefully forever). Now I am unsure whether what I am doing is
correct and how I can best deal with this in the offline situation, where, at
present, I'm leaving the items I know to be spam in the downloaded Spam folder.

When I am sure I know I haven't subscribed to emails, I've gone to some sites
and followed the links to remove me from their mailings, with some success at
least, but I don't want to do this for all spam and want to be sure of the best
methods to use. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Carol P
