Hi Mo,

I’ve alerted the board to your proposed service.

As for advertising, it would be an announcement rather than an advert, if you
weren’t charging for the service, wouldn’t it?

Best,
Clive

Hi clive.

That's an excellent suggestion. Obviously we are not trying to tred on toes
here, so yes cross promotion shouldn't be a problem. Would it be OK to post a
note on the bcab list once the first time has been agreed upon? If not i
totally understand as we are not supposed to advertise or promote on there
etc...

All the best,

Mo.

Hello People,

It's me again. I'm not certain whether the link I put into my last message
actually worked, as I received a message I'd never seen, about some features of
the message not being supported by plain text. So, the link to the BCAB
Technology Help Line page on our website is:

https://www.bcab.org.uk/content/bcab-technology-help-line

Best,

Hi Mo

this is an excellent idea and congratulations for being part of it.

Like most others I think a trial with a we

 ekly

service to test out the
demand would be a good way to start. If that is too much to do then at
least once a fortnight.

Monday between 7 and 8 pm also sounds like an appropriate time slot.

kind regards
Robin

Hello Everyone.

I am posting this on behalf of a charity called Helping Hands For The
Blind. For a while, they have been toying with the idea of running a
helpline for the blind on a voluntary basis, to help out with tech
issues primarily, but perhaps offering advice on every day issues as
well. I'd be on hand to answer any tech questions, and the chairman
David Chattten Smith would be on hand to answer any other questions.
would people find such a helpline useful? if so, how often do you
think it should be run? the

 choices

are:

every monday 7 until 8.
every 2 weeks on a monday 7 until 8.
or once a month on a monday 7 until 8.

If the helpline proves popular, we would look at extending the hours
or frequency. needless to say, we will be using a 03 number so the
user does not pay anything to call in, unlike other similar services.
We look forward to any constructive feedback/comments.

Thanks for reading,

Mo.
