When I received the talking card reader some years ago, it came with a CD
with manuals in all formats including text and html. I have them available if
anyone is interested and wants to drop me a mail at

  Regards.

  Hello,

I know I got mine a few years ago, but I certainly did not have to order a
regular non-talking one in order to get a talking one itself. As for how it is?
It works absolutely fine. It has a few puttons on it and a regular keypad and
once turned on it starts talking. Once you insert your card in it will ask for
the pin, so you need to enter your PIN then press OK and then choose relevant
action.

I can’t remember if it came with some sort of manual or I just figured it out
on my own, either way once I got it it wasn’t too hard to figure out how to use
it.

I know that the natwest and their card readers was discussed several times on
this list and based on others people’s experience seems like, for whatever
reason, it seems a bit harder to obtain them than a few years ago when I needed
one, but I also seem to recall that, again based on other people’s experiences
that with the bit of persistence they certainly are obtainable, so I guess just
keep at it.

Someone also suggested that you can try going in to your local branche and
try talking to them about it.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

wasteful bank?

  Hello all,

I’ve just been on the phone and have been told that to get a touch tone card
reader, I first have to order a standard, inaccessible reader by going online;
Then wait up to 15 days for it to arrive; then phone Actionline to say I can’t
use it, and order the one I wanted in the first place. This seems barmy to me,
but is it correct? If so, it seems to me that it’s a waste of their card reader
and my time. Has anyone else had experience of Natwest online banking using one
of their card readers? Is the Touchtone card reader any cop, and how does it
work?

  Thanks,

  Clive
