Hi Douglas. No, I do not have the media option on the explorer
bar dropdown menus under view. I do not know what
functionality I might be missing out on, but its never arisen as
a problem yet. I seem to recall that when you install Internet
Explorer you are given certain items to select, though I cannot
for the life of me recall whether media bar or intallation of
Windows Media player, was one of them. (I do have Windows Media
Player 9, but I hardly ever use it and think I have declined its
invitation to be a default player when it does ask me. Very
strange though that I have none of the options you mention.

Ray,
Surprising if you managed to avoid installing the Media BAR - I
thought
it was an integral part of IE6. Have you the Media item in the
sub
menu of your Explorer bar in the View Menu? If so what happens
if
you press Enter on it to Select it? I am usually taken to the
media bar
directly, or if not can get there by pressing f6 once or twice
and in it I
can tab to the Options button I mentioned.

I think that Mel's problem may arise because even if the Media
bar is
not visible, unless it's use for playing media has been turned
off, it will
still interfere.

Douglas
