Hi Andy,
I don't use the same scanner as you, but I would guess that what you think
of as the second scan, is actually the recognition process taking place.
I would suggest that it may help you to Join the K1000 list if you actually
have Kurtzweil 1000 installed. Otherwise, I could forward your question on
to that list and see if members of that list can give you any further
pointers if you need them.
