      I think though your director is to far forward, the measurements were not 
clear, but typically they are with reference to the reflector, so in this case 
D1 should be 176mm from Ref not DE that I think you've done.?

      So simple and cheap to make every amateur should have one. Anyone need 
help let me know.

      I've had a bash at making Keith's antenna. The result is below.
      ?
      The elements are 6mm tube that I happened to have in the workshop. The 
dipole was bent, not altogether successfully, using a cheap and nasty brake 
pipe hand bending tool. ?I've used plastic fixing blocks from B&Q for the 
mounts.
      
   
      Tried it out on a couple of 70cm stations. It appeared to work okay, but, 
as they say, the proof of the pudding.........
