West end of Old Marsh Rd to the first side ditch. Found a couple Common
Gallinule (one of my 2 target birds for the day) Had plenty of grumpy Black
terns dive bomb me. Had a surprise Orchard Oriole fly over heading out to
the island. On the auto tour a flyby American Bittern, more Common
Gallinules, saw a mixed brood of 5 Wood ducks and 1 Hooded Merganser. I
walked the grassland by the main parking lot saw many Bobolinks, An Eastern
Kingbird , a Black-billed Cuckoo, Clay-colored Sparrows and many crabby
Tree swallows. Dipped on the 2nd target bird Henslow Sparrow, June 22.
