I am not offended, because most of you are right!!!

Let me explain a bit more.

Jobs here are paid according knowledge. A new IT manager earn between 100k
and 130k a year in local money (the purchasing power of 1 Bs is the same
that half dollar).

But there is no high value for this range, because this kind of job is very
new in this poor country. Good IT managers in very similar jobs earn very
different salaries.

Here down, mostly of us works for USA's corporations or USA Government's
organizations that helps our country, so, if you can tell me the medium
range for this salary in USA, then I can calculate which range should be
ours.

More info:.
Health insurance here is mandatory and very cheap, everybody has one.
Employed here collect once a month from January to November and two salaries
on December.
Vacation depends on antiquity, 2 weeks the first 2 years, 3 weeks from year
3 to year 5 and 4 weeks for 6 year or more.
We work 46 hours a week (6 hours on Saturday)

I have been mortally offended by this bickering!

original email was based on sarcasm, so fair do's! Fight fire with fire and
all that! I didn't intend to offend you in first instance, however if I did
I apologise too.

Figure out the city, collect local salary expectations. Find a kid at my
sons school who has done a book report on the local economic conditions.
Print up a 50 page bio on all of the local job openings. Open Excel and put
together a little variable calculator with numeric equivalencies for
differing variables such as vacation time and benefits. Then I could factor
in how valuable each of these are to differing persons dependant on their
marital status and number of children. Publish the results of all factors
and give him a quick answer.

do with the job description. What I make in Michigan, would be fantastic
money in Tennessee. I would not be able to live on it in California. I
could live extremely comfortable on it in Mexico.

benefits and 2 weeks vacation.
