You could still use an older version of Surface Reader on your laptop, which
the current version should provide fine support for live use

Though it will mean I can't use Surface Reader on my laptop, as I can't
upgrade it past XP, which means no Surface Reader in live settings, I
suspect it's probably best to move away from XP support.
