Hello Quentin, With regard to your question about other TTS engines, I too have seen many in the store but didn't actually try them out. I however previously installed the Svox Classic tts and used the Victoria UK voice. I got tired of that voice after purchasing it and so have abandoned it. I currently rely solely on the UK voice that came with the Pico TTS. Thank you. On 11/8/13, michael's mail boxl <michaelandjeanie@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
I find Uk lady bit tinny but for a while it took me to find my apps on phone and tablet I thought I was going mad. I would have thought they would add new voices but not take some away. As for new keyboard I just updated it today and not checked it out but I
do
not use the predictive text i find i a pain it keeps changing my words to what I want. And as for that smile button witch I do not use I am for ever pressing it
I
wish I could take that button off the keyboard. Yes I am not sure Quentin if new things work with talkback. I googled whats new in google text to speech apart from adding a new language their is not much for us. Cheers Michael. Hi Michael, Yes the play store changed at some point over the past week - it seems to have slowly migrated across my various devices and as you say it's in slightly different positions on the phone and the tablet. With the speech, I downloaded the update last night and I was surprised to see there was no "what's new" section to say what the changes were and
that
they'd completely changed the voice - yes, as you say everyone has this
new
voice. I actually like it, although it's not really up to me to comment since I don't use Talkback all the time! The other thing they've changed this week is the google keyboard. They've changed the way some of the punctuation works when you hold down say the full stop and held down keys don't go blue, and also if you slide across
the
keyboard to enter text, you can now slide over the space bar instead of lifting between words. I'm pretty sure none of the keyboards that let you slide or swipe or whatever they want to call it to enter text actually
work
in that mode with Talkback do they? Regards Quentin. On 8 November 2013 10:58, michael's mail boxl

And on my tablet I click on a drawer to get to my apps. Plust last night I had an update for google text to speech so I did
update
and now I have a tinny Lady UK voice and no Danual from the UK. Have You found this out thanks Quentin. Cheers Michael.
