Yesterday a co-worker said that they saw a large owl on the roof of their neighbor's house. She said that it was almost all white except brown streaks, that it had a small black beak, it had no neck and when it flew away it was all white underneath. I showed her a picture of an immature snowy owl and she said that is the owl she had seen. I know it is not supposed to be here, but this was the morning after the huge wind storm, so maybe it was blown way off course. They have been sighted as far south as Dulles Airport. Did anyone else see this owl? She saw this bird in the West End near the creek and wooded area directly behind the Tuckahoe YMCA. She said it wasn't there this morning. She was going to get a photograph, but it is probably gone. Thomas C. Robertson, C.F.A. Senior Vice President 707 E.
