There were several redstarts singing on the Dutch Gap trail beyond the 1.5
mile marker this morning. Got a nice look at one black and orange beauty.
One male prothonotary, sporting a new yellow leg band (plastic), was already
paired up with a female. First female prothonotary I've seen this year.
Theirs could be an early clutch! Yellow-rumps, yellow-throated warblers, and
blue-gray gnatcatchers aplenty all along the trail.
