I don't think that there is any current cause for concern about the bluebirds at Occoquan Bay NWR. I arrived at the refuge this past Friday & Saturday shortly after the gates opened at 7 am & had to drive slowly & carefully into the refuge because there were numerous bluebirds (mostly hatch year birds) loafing on the road between the entrance gate & the parking lot, along with mourning doves and tree swallows (and cottontails).
