Elisabeth, by "Windows Installer" are you referring to the file "ikernel.exe"? If so you can just install it. It just sits there until Windows needs it. Do remember, however, when installing any program to make sure you close down all running programs, except EXPLORER (your Windows System) and SYSTRAY. That will go a long way to preventing DLL conflicts in the future. A few weeks ago I downloaded (but did not install it) the Windows Installer. At the time it seemed to me that it might do a good job to prevent DLL Hell, caused by progs which I'll put on my computer. So, a couple of days ago thinking of installing it, I searched for more info on what it would do and I am now not sure if it is meant for the end-user or for the programmers to include in the programs they are writing. Does anyone know? Greetings Elisabeth UNSUBSCRIBE by sending email to triadtechtalk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with unsubscribe in the Subject field.
