My F.Boot OS is exactly that. X/ICA/RDP/JVM/Netscape in a Linux OS.=3D20
Fits in a 64MB Disk on Module or hard drive. If you use a Disk on Module
you can even remove the hard drive on the machine.

I looked at some of the programs suggested last week. I was hoping to
find
a relatively easy way to turn a PC into a thin client AND get rid of the
local Microsoft OS. It would be nice to be able to encourage some of my
smaller clients to adopt server-based computing by giving them a free or
cheap way to use their aging PCs as thin client devices.
Knoppix - this is Linux on a bootable CD. It contains a bunch of
programs,
one of which is an RDP client, but it's overkill and I'd want to boot
from a
hard disk, because any older PC that I'm going to convert would have a
hard
disk.
Pilot Linux - this is also Linux on a bootable CD, derived from Knoppix.
This started to boot, but at one point it just black-screened, and I
didn't
even try to troubleshoot it.
Thinstation - this is another Linux bootable CD that reads the
connection
specifics (server IP, etc.) from a floppy. This worked perfectly,
although
the display settings were a bit off (not all the colors, and the wrong
resolution).
PXES - this is a linux thin client that loads from a TFTP server after a
PXE
boot. I haven't tried this one yet, but based on what a pain it would be
burning a new CD every time you're troubleshooting something like a
display
problem, this seems like it might be more appealing.=3D20
What I'd really like to find is something I can install for free to a
PC's
hard drive that would boot and give me a thin client interface like
you'd
see on a true thin client (like a Wyse or a Neoware) (oh yeah, and I'd
want
it to be free, or really cheap, like $20 a machine).
Anyone know what Neoware charges for ThinPC? Based on how expensive
their
ezRemote Manager is, I'm guessing it's not cheap.
