BTW, I don't have any performance issues or problems with Windows XP
with SP1. What sort of issues are you talking about? Feel free to
email me off list if you want to.

Now that you mention it....with a customer they have the same =3D
issue....all xp workstations. They were initially created in a
workgroup and later joined the domain. They had some performance
problemsn (who doesn't with xp) so I rejoined =3D them in the domain.
After rejoining they didn't see any other computers....after half a
hour they did and after another certain period they dissapeared
again. I =3D haven't checked if it's a bingo effect or not.

Hope anyone can shed a light on this one....

Grx

One thing I seems to be a trend is that most of these workstation
were created as part of the workgroup initially, then was joined with
the =3D Domain at a later time. Not sure if that tells you anything.

Again, where on your network are these clients? Are they on a different =
subnet than your backup server?

Seems like it does not matter. I made sure I have Netbios enabled but =
=3D still is does not show up. No DNS issue so far. =3D3D3D3D20

This is really weird because about 2/3 of the computers are showing up, =
while the other third are not there. They do have access to the =3D =
network.

I would check to make sure that they have NetBIOS enabled on the LAN =3D =
=3D3D3D =3D3D3D3D3D interface. Also, are these workstations on the same =
subnet, =3D or =3D3D on =3D3D3D =3D3D3D3D3D another subnet from your =
backupsever? Also, are you =3D having =3D3D any =3D3D3D DNS =3D3D3D3D3D =
issues? Remember that if you are going to =3D browse =3D3D through =
=3D3D3D "Network =3D3D3D3D3D Neighborhood" it's all NetBIOS =3D =
resolution. I'm hoping =3D3D =3D3D3D that W2k3 will =3D3D3D3D =
=3D3D3D3D3D get rid of that. IT =3D should, since W2k3 =3D3D will =
=3D3D3D not support any client =3D3D3D3D3D under Windows 2000.

Just wondering what I am missing here. I have a W2k AD Domain. When I =
=3D =3D3D3D =3D3D3D3D3D go to network neighborhood, and browse the =
domain, I don't =3D =3D3D see =3D3D3D some of =3D3D3D3D3D the =
workstation. All the workstation are part =3D of =3D3D the =3D3D3D =
Domain. =3D3D3D3D This is =3D3D3D3D3D causing some problem because I =
=3D can't use =3D3D =3D3D3D backupexec to back these =3D3D3D3D =
=3D3D3D3D3D workstation. The =3D workstation in =3D3D =3D3D3D question =
are either running Win2K or =3D3D3D3D =3D3D3D3D3D =3D XP.=3D3D3D3D3D3D20

Thanks for any help
