[THIN] Re: OT: Computer not showing when browsing the network

Seems like it does not matter. I made sure I have Netbios enabled but
still is does not show up. No DNS issue so far. =20

This is really weird because about 2/3 of the computers are showing up,
while the other third are not there. They do have access to the
network.

I would check to make sure that they have NetBIOS enabled on the LAN =3D
interface. Also, are these workstations on the same subnet, or on =3D
another subnet from your backupsever? Also, are you having any DNS =3D
issues? Remember that if you are going to browse through "Network =3D
Neighborhood" it's all NetBIOS resolution. I'm hoping that W2k3 will =
=3D
get rid of that. IT should, since W2k3 will not support any client =3D
under Windows 2000.

Just wondering what I am missing here. I have a W2k AD Domain. When I
=3D go to network neighborhood, and browse the domain, I don't see some
of =3D the workstation. All the workstation are part of the Domain. =
This
is =3D causing some problem because I can't use backupexec to back these =
=3D
workstation. The workstation in question are either running Win2K or =
=3D
XP.=3D3D20

Thanks for any help
Vince
