The only thing that comes to mind is using Resource Hacker to modify either explorer.exe or shell32.dll, which can be a pretty scary process. I know you can modify the shutdown/restart/logoff dialogues, but I am not sure about the behavior itself. If you want to check it out... http://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/ NOTE: I am not responsible for any liability as a result of this recommendation. Hey Alex, I will pipe in since Joe and I are working on the same project. That was our next step. However, the customer wants the logoff and disconnect (not shutdown in this case) icons to appear exactly as the do with the standard Start Menu items. After doing some research, we have not found a way to hack the existing icons, or, put replacement icons in the same place. When you delve into the system controlled portion of the Start Menu you end up going down a rabbit hole in which nothing is at it seems anymore !! Steve Greenberg Thin Client Computing 34522 N. Joe, Why don't you remove Logoff and Shutdown from the start menu, then replace them with shortcuts to a script(s) that handles your app then shuts the machine down or logs the user off? Also, it is a script that is running, the problem is when users select logoff Windows closes the script before it closes the application it launches. I need windows to close the application first and wait for the script to complete. Publish a wrapper script that starts your app, then closes it. That way, Windows is terminating your wrapper script. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Joe Shonk Sent: Monday, March 07, 2005 1:22 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Logoff scripts... Hello, Does anyone know how to change the logoff process? It seems that W2k3 terminates the applications then runs the logoff script. I need to run a logoff script first in order to shutdown an application in the proper order. If I let W2k3 terminate the application, it shutdown incorrectly. Any ideas? Joe
