Stick to what you know - Dell. That makes management easier. Don't mix
server manufacturers unless you have a VERY good reason for it -
changing brands is a major purchasing decision.

You want Dell's latest pizza box, whatever that is, 2 processors
(should be dual core by now), and at 50 users a box, I'd expect you'll
still be OK with 4Gb RAM. I don't know the Dell range, but I'm sure
you have a friendly Dell dealer near you who will sell you what you
need.

IMHO, choosing Intel or AMD is fairly arbitrary. I don't worry too
much about upgrades either - apart from possibly adding memory, you
ought to be able to run on the current OS/HW for the next 3 years
until you need to change the server again. Then it's a Win2008
migration project.

50 users per server sounds fine. So divide that by the number of users
and add 2 servers - that will give you N+2 redundancy, which means you
can have a server drop out for a couple of days with a HW issue, and
still have N+1 - that's often cheaper than an extended warranty
contract. And you can have a 'spare' server for testing under normal
circumstances.
