The response you are getting is just “standard operating procedure” for most all firms in the technology field, including our phone companies and internet providers. I know one of the people who works for TWC, and they are trained to tell everyone who calls that the problem is on the customer’s end, not theirs, and then, they tell the customer to go through all kinds of configuration changes, sometimes messing up the customer’s system, but they will rarely admit the problem is on their end. I have had that happen with both my internet service and my Serious/XM radio service, only to have it mysteriously work correctly again after I hang up the phone from talking to them. They want me to piss around with the router settings which I'm not gonna do since everything else in the house works fine. I'm gonna tell them I did and send all the messages I've gotten from people having problems. I don't like being screwed with and that's what there doing here. Just admit there are issues and deal with 'em. Well enough of that. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your family. ----- Original Message ----- From: Fred Wurtzel <mailto:f.wurtzel@xxxxxxx> To: the-facts-machine@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, December 19, 2014 11:27 AM Subject: [the-facts-machine] Re: Victor stream and internet radio. Hello Rich, I also get error messages about weak signals when I am in close proximity to my router. I am also getting errors about insufficient internal storage when there are barely any documents or files in the memory. I have no NLS books and just 5 or 6 podcasts, no music, or other stuff in there. Still I keep getting the insufficient internal memory error. I think the interface is well designed and the functionality great. I wonder about the hardware, though. The device does not seem to support the software. At least, that is what it seems to me. Merry Christmas. Here's the entire transaction between humanware and myself. Sounds like the run around to me. Hello, Please check the below settings on your router. These are the basic specs of your Stream’s Wi-Fi: IEEE 802.11b/g/n operating in the 2.4GHz band Things to try on your router: Ensure that the wireless security mode is set to: WPA-PSK Personal/**WPA2-PSK Personal ‘this is the preferred option’ (definition:Wi-Fi protected access with pre-shared key) 1) Change the channel that the router is broadcasting on. If it is set to Auto, the try to set it to a fixed channel, **preferably channel 6. 2) Try switching the data encryption mode between AES and TKIP **or combined AES/TKIP depending on the current setting. 3) Try changing the wireless mode on the router to either G/N or only G or only N if that is unsuccessful. (Your Apex will only work on B or G however) Change the SSID to something simple without capital letters or symbols. To delete it, press the number 7 to enter the wireless menu and then either to or 8 to scroll to the delete a connection option. Press the pound key to enter this and then find your configuration and press pound. Press pound again to confirm. Then scroll to the scan for available connections option and reconfigure your connection. Please let us know if this makes any difference and we can look further in to it if necessary. I've had the stream act the same way when stand right next to the router. I had OoTunes on my iPhone all afternoon today <x-apple-data-detectors://6> and never had buffering issues. I have OOTunes on my iPhone and have no problems. I keep getting the please wait message on the stream after starting stations. They work for awhile and then the please wait message comes up and I get connection to the station failed. As I said, I don't have buffering issues with OOTunes on the iPhone. So I i know it's not internet connection issues here. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
