[texbirds] Tuesday morning birding, Hagerman NWR

Our group had a great morning of birding, picking up 74 species before the 
heavier rain started.
Much needed rain as the lake level is about 611.  The bird of the day was a 
Prairie Falcon which
gave us a flyby and then sat for all to admire on an exposed sandbar at the end 
of Plover Pad.
We found 50 Wood Ducks at Meadow Pond. There were about 4000 White Geese which 
is surprising
as there doesn't seem to be that much to eat.  Harris Sparrows were in 
abundance. Also nice was a
group of 34 Canvasbacks and a group of 40 Hooded Mergansers on the lake.
