I also have a freelist, and understand the spam is anoying: Mine isn't
moderated, however, and 11 to 15 subscribers are on it.
I get lots of freelists users and freelists anouncements though, and intend
to stop those.
for what it's worth, I've enjoyed beeing here, and have been helped out by
it.
