This is a safety diode in case the power supply goes too high
it will short.  I think the supply usually runs about 120VDC.
You need to be careful about the caps in the chopper supply.
If one is bad it will allow the supply to run wild.
Fix the supply before changing the zener diode.
You probalby will want to run it on a dummy load to test.
The 150 volt zener will work or the ECG will work or the R2M will work.

The diode is really not in the circuit untill you have a fault.
