[TechAssist] RCA, G36705, CTC197, No Sound

Hi,
I guess I have been fortunate not to encounter this type of problem on this 
chassis until now.  I suspect the eeprom.  I checked the menu setting and it 
shows "variable audio 1 speakers ON", "variable audio 2 speakers OFF, "fixed 
audio 3 speakers OFF".  I tried to change these settings but no effect.  The 
volume bar is functioning.  I unplugged the set for several minutes to see if 
the Guide Plus would possibly be the problem but no help.  I am getting error 
code 16 but I don't have any information as to what this correlates to.  I 
checked all of my tips and old e-mails for help and all I found was to 
re-initialize the eeprom.  I also tried an external speaker and tried the 
mechanical speaker switch in the rear of the set.
Can I write the perimeters down before I change the eeprom like you do in the 
177/187 series sets and place them into the new one?.  As you probably figured 
out, I don't have Chipper Checker and I don't have it in my future.
Any help or tips would be appreciated.
