you can force the deflection Ay on, by shorting tp210 (location G-2) on the deflection pcb. I don't reccommend it since mine took out the H-out after a couple of tests. Me thinks the issue might be with the SMPS running slightly overvoltage. It wants to sit at 160v rather than 137v, which might be enough to invoke shutdowns and smoke the H-out with a reduced crt load when forced on(as I had done). It was not clear to me what might cause this. Unit under warranty, was at another shop (tech there gave up on it, smart fellow). Anyway, have removed crt boards, disconneted connectors listed in "circuit overview", shorted B-E of TV852 and still no dice. Pulses 3 times but turns off so fast I can't locate trouble. b+ good, verified by lifting C of horz xstr and shorting B-E of TP210. I welcome any ideas or suggestions. > Tom at Carson City TV > > > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- > Lost Password: > http://www.tech-assist.org and select "Login Problems?". > Email Archives: > //www.freelists.org/archives/techassist/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lost Password: http://www.tech-assist.org and select "Login Problems?".
