We have a network of 4 OTUs linked by fibre optic cables. Each end of the network has a single EPS9 BT line from two different local authority offices, and the IP addressed signals arrive there from our corporate network. This has now been operating for about a year, with the only interruptions due to foreseeable IT work on the corporate network. Our Siemens Alpha drives 20 other sites in Preston on IP addresses via direct EPS9 lines, and lots of other legacy sites all over Lancashire using Ferranti Mk1 and Mk2 OTUs, via a Peek FEP (front end processor) on multipoint bearers. -- Ian M.
