[TCUG] Re: Green Conflict

There are detectors to extend the all red and also quite a long
intergreen between phases as well. There are 6 such bridges here and we
have had tourists etc stopping to admire the view then been faced with
oncoming traffic.=20

In this case 2 police officers who attended the accident stood at either
end of the bridge and apparently agreed that both greens were on at the
same time. They then advised both drivers that no one was at fault
because the lights were faulty.=20

I then explained to them how the signals operate and although it was
possible for vehicles to meet on the bridge, they must have got a green
at different times. Unfortunately they are sticking with their story.
Funnily enough after witnessing such a dangerous occurrence they decided
to leave the lights switched on.

I'm now waiting for the insurance claims to come in from both drivers.

Scot,

Are there detectors that extend the intergreen between stages, if so,
and
there is a fault, the first vehicle could go through a green, then
before he
clears the other end, the second vehicle could get a green. Worth
checking!

Hi,
=20

I have a shuttle working signalised bridge where following a head on
crash both drivers claimed to have green at the same time.=20

=20

We tested the green conflict afterwards and as expected the controller
shut down the lights.=20

=20

Has anyone ever experienced fault conditions where green conflicts occur
and where the controller has also failed to shut down ?
