I've used video imaging stopline detectors at a couple of sites and there w=
ere problems initially as the units kept losing the detection zones. Appar=
ently the manufacturer has updated the firmware which was the cause of the =
problem. The units were installed as 'trial' sites the manufacturer did re=
solve the problem fairly quickly and as far as I am aware the sites are now=
 operating as intended. =20

Subject: [TCUG] Above Ground Stopline Detectors V Inductive Loops

Is the signalling fraternity now specifying above ground detectors with
configurable detection zones for stopline detection as opposed to good old
inductive stopline loops as standard? If you are are they proving reliable?

I have installed 2 to date and one failed almost immediately. The repair
time for the unit was not acceptable!
