Dave,

I have tried (from a well known supplier) above ground stop line
detectors with detection zones at 2 sites and both sites failed
continuously, one immediately. They have now been removed and will no
longer be installed at any sites here until reliability improves.

Subject: [TCUG] Above Ground Stopline Detectors V Inductive Loops

Is the signalling fraternity now specifying above ground detectors with
configurable detection zones for stopline detection as opposed to good
old
inductive stopline loops as standard? If you are are they proving
reliable?

I have installed 2 to date and one failed almost immediately. The repair
time for the unit was not acceptable!
