ok, i have an oil leak. (who doesn't in a vw?) I have checked and replaced
vavle cover gaskets, re torqued the oil pressure switch, checked the top of the
case in the area of the oil cooler (nothing) checked all push rod tubes
(nothing) checked the down vent peice of tin (dry). it seems as though it is a
pressure leak...when it sits it drips 2 or 3 drops imediately after parking it
then it leaks no more. as far as where the oil is on the motor. there is some
on the dipstick, yet the back of the drive pully is clean, it seems as though
it is focused in the engine compartment primarily on the right side around teh
dipstick area near the pully, i would think it is crank case pressure but as i
said the pulley is clean. as far as under teh bus it is on the back side #2 and
#4 exhaust push rod tubes and on the sump plate.

the full flow hoses aren't leaking i checked those too.

here is what i have done differently since before the fire when it didn't leak:

alternator with the special fancy alternator mount and one of those empi filler
necks with two hoses on it one goes to the carb and the other is capped off.

bigger carbeurator

new full flow hoses (which i have triple checked and are clean)

should i put back on the factory filler neck thingy and see if that solves it?

it doesn't leak when it sits but the back end is covered in oil
