I also think this is related to how much risk we all are willing to take in all types of events through life. My brother Dan went sky diving, and I didn't. He could talk all about his independence, and how he would shrivel up and die if he didn't do it, and I could talk about not risking my life unnecessarily just to prove a point or just to have a couple of minutes of fun, and whose to say which of us is right? I also suspect, besides all of the above, this may also be related to how long a person has lived before they lost their sight, and how long since they did lose it they've had to make the adjustment.
