I found the Israeli Gun Laws - very reasonable.

Israel has some of the toughest gun restrictions in the world. The problem is,
the world doesn’t know that. For instance; To obtain a gun license, an
applicant must be a resident of Israel for at least three consecutive years,
have no criminal record, be in good health, have no history of mental illness,
pass a weapons-training course, and be over a certain age:

20 for women who completed military service or civil service equivalent
21 for men who completed military service or civil service equivalent
27 for those who did not complete military service or civil service equivalent
45 for residents of East Jerusalem.
Gun licenses must be renewed every three years and permits are given only for
personal use, not for business in the firearms sale while HOLDERS FOR
SELF-DEFENSE PURPOSES MAY ONLY OWN ONE HANDGUN and MAY PURCHASE A MAXIMUM OF
FIFTY ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION A YEAR except for those shot at firing ranges.

You said arms, not firearms.

Arms consists of weapons, including firearms.

I thought private firearms were prohibited, I believe you told us this.

Can Israeli citizens have firearms? If yes, is it all citizens, ir just
some?

I thought all citizen firearms were forbidden.

So update us on Israeli firearms.

Good for them if they can protect themselves from attacks.

Sorry, you are nit picking, Israel citizens not only have arms and

those who don't are encouraged to get them and I suppose hand

guns are the most practical.

What did they tell them to arm themselves with? There are
many types of arms.

Stan,

Israel has soldiers on every street corner
because it does not permit citizens to have
guns.

I am sure that if the Israeli government
permitted rifles and hand guns, that the
Israeli citizens would arm themselves.

I am wondering if Israel's not having guns has
to do with the fact that they have territories
occupied by Palestinians who have vowed to
kill every Jew alive and yet have
citizenship.

Maybe you can find out why they don't allow
guns for protection.

I believe that if the Jews were armed in WW2
that Hitler and crew would not have murdered
them in concentration camps.

If Hitler was coming for Radio Officers, I'd
buy the deadliest gun I could and stand next
to JS and RR and defend the unarmed R/Os on
this list.

I think Lee would join us, how about the
others?

Read my message again.
Sheriff recommends those with
firearm carry licenses
carry their firearms
in public and be
prepared to use them
in order to protect
fellow citizens.

He agrees with you, but it
means more guns not less.

Good point,
Stanley. At
least one
Sherrif has
gone public
with a request that
licenses to conceil
carry carry
with it to
responsibility
to carry your
firearm and
has issued a press
release asking people
to carry their
firearms in
public for
then
protection of
the general public.

The recent
California
shooting took
place in a "no
gun zone"
which means that
law abiding
citizens did
not carry any
firearms with
them.

The killers being
criminals
ignored the
law.

We need people to
carry their
firearms in
these troubled
times, or like
Israel we need
military on the
street corners with
machine guns
protecting the
people as
well.

How do you like the
idea of
walking in the
street, going
to school, a
party,
shopping,

church, biking, sport
events, concerts, etc
knowing that
all the
adults are
carrying guns,

hidden or open? Think
what could
happen when
people get
into an
argument, how

about the poor
desperate for money?
Remember the

Pryer who
joked

that when he was
unemployed
he was
thinking
of getting a
gun to make a
living?Think

what effect this
would have on
families with
small children
and teenagers
and world

opinion?

Obviously mass
shooters are not going
to attack
homes so even
those in Paris
and here

are not going to be
protected by
gun owners who
left their
guns at home
which shoots
down

one big argument for
buying guns.
Think of what
it means to
take a gun
along with
your wallet

every time you leave
your house? It
is not a
simple matter
as many think
it is.
