Liz, how absolutely mind-boggling. Well done! ...and I'm envious. I made a "mistake" with my batch of cinnamon seed soap last year... didn't check the recipe so colour was overpoweringly dark chocolate.... however, recipients LOVED the soap. Did think about black soap at that time though :-) Maggie _____ From: soapcraft-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:soapcraft-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Liz Brook Sent: Saturday, 15 May 2010 3:22 p.m. To: Soapcraft Subject: [soapcraft] Black Soap / Titanium Dioxide I have to share with people that DO understand. I have finally made a black soap! Yes, I'm not sure why, but it has been a challenge. I've only been able to achieve varying shades of metal gun grey. I have just unmoulded and cut this afternoon and it is a lovely, smooth black! Colour is alkanet root infused olive oil and charcoal. The tip was on The Dish forum. Now just have to see if the colour of the lather is white or grey! Also unmoulded my second try at using Titanium Dioxide. The result not quite as I envisaged. Still, back to the drawing board and try again. Liz <http://www.lizziebee.co.nz> <http://www.incredimail.com/index.asp?id=54475> Add FUN to your email - CLICK HERE!
