I should have added that having done all this, it has essentially what
I'd call a "lid", hinged on the long side which, when open, reflects a
much richer sound.

George.

An interesting description, so I'll try mine, being sighted myself,
and really confuse things.

Take a standard upright piano, and lay it on its back.

Redesign it so that it more or take on the shape of a harp, with the
long side on the left to accommodate the bass strings.

Re-position the keyboard where the pedals are/were.

Mount it all on legs, and extend and re-position the pedals below the
frame, so they are just slight behind the keyboard at foot level.

Are you now totally confused. (Smile)

George.

Hi Duke
You have for sure seen a grand piano. It is used in all piano concets
and recitals. Keys like a normal piano and the body looks like a wing.
Perhaps somebody with a better English than mine can describe it
better.
Regards
Claudio

Thanks. I've never seen one. Could you describe it please?
