WIth that thought I gues I could get a pic of Hitler, a confederate flag, a
kkk outfit, a muslim suicide bomber and attach all of them to my jacket and
I would be the "bomb" at the next social function? come on, get out of the
past....move forawrd with something positive representing the south, like a
cotton bowl..It does not offend JUST the minority!!
Mike I certainly agree with the practicality of what you say....
There are consequences to our actions and offending for the sake of offending
is certainly not a worthy life goal... But since the human race will never
come to consensus and uniformity, some graciousness is demanded toward those
with whom we disagree. The point is not to support offensiveness, but to get
over touchiness.
The principle of free speech has to do with understanding that what one says
cannot damage me (liable excluded of course) unless I allow it to. You can even
talk bad about my dog, and I will not be offended!!! <G> I will however, make
sure you see my ribbon after the show!
