First, I will update everyone on our BLM permit status on Monday night after I
speak with them again. The permit application was sent in Friday via FedEx so
they will be able to START the processing on Monday.
For those of you wanting to launch MODEL rockets in the desert, go to El Mirage
Dry lake. This is a BLM lakebed that has a permit station as you drive in. On
their site, they even talk about model rocket flying there. See:

Like some have noticed, ROC's situation is NOT at all similar to you doing
things as a private individual. ROC is a corporation and our rules are much
more complicated than for individuals.
