Kinberly,

Maybe you need to have your sighted friend show you which cables go
where so you'll know in the future. None of the cables look alike so
you should be able to keep track of what goes where.

Actually, I don't understand the issues you're having with the modem.
I never have to reset mine except when they do a major equipment
upgrade. I think that's been twice in the several years I've been with
RR.

Usually, when RR has an outage, my TV, internet, and phone all come
back up without me doing anything. I have had to turn off the TV box
and turn it back on once or twice, but that's it.

Okay, folks--I'm getting totally frustrated. Roadrunner went down again
in Leawood and Overland Park last evening. So my first question: Is
there anyone on this list who's running Roadrunner from Leawood/Overland
Park and if so, did yours go down last night and how did it finally come
up running again? Second question: The tech I spoke with told me I need
to reset my modem. Unfortunately the sighted person who usually assists
me with this is out of town for a few days (I'm writing from work which
is why I'm online this morning), and the tech could only ask me if the
"ready" light was on (which of course I couldn't tell him), and that I
needed to insert the blue plug into a certain portal (also not helpful).
My next question, then: How do those of you who are blind reset your
modems?
I observe that there are two components to my cable modem. The top
component appears to have two round plugs, with a modem cord in the
middle inserted into the modem. Underneath this is another component
with two round pins plugged in, then two plugs, then two more round pins
inserted into plugs in what looks like another type of modem-like
device.

Any tips on resetting the modem would be very much appreciated. Better
yet--is there an alternative to resetting the modem everytime kc.rr.com
has an outage?
