If you can't find an extractor small enough you may also be able to just
drill it out; just need to be careful of the threads. You may also need to
just drill it out and rethread the hole for a slightly larger screw.

Depends on the size of the screw.

Normally one would drill a second hole down the screw, and use a back-out
tool (screw extractor).

Camera screws tend to be small.

Is this screw in a thin plate? Can it be driven all the way through, and
picked up "on the inside", rather than be backed out?

How large in diameter is the screw?
