When I worked for a wholesale electronics parts supply company, we always knew that some company had a new person in purchasing when they called in an order for a "Dee-Ten-Dee Ee" (Diode) or some "Grid Leak Bias" in the paste can. (A similar product to "Striped Flagpole Paint", or "Left-handed board stretcher")
