Bill, do you get that write-error just when you put the disk in? what is the first thing you hear?

Write error, or something like:
push record key for daisy recording. It sounds really strange. How many have you tried? If it is only 3, why not go down to the sixth or seventh in the packet and try it. It is possible to have a number of bad disks in a row--but it's unlikely.
I hope others will jump in. I just happened to see this and I am still up.
Do you happen to have any other recordable disk to slip in and see if the error-message is still there? Could it have just hiccuped--now you know why I don't teach technology skills. Why not try turning off the machine, and can you get the battery out for a couple seconds and then slip it back into position? I don't remember if this is possible with the plex. I know I can do it with the victor reader classic machines which I have.
Anyhow, maybe there's something to "clearing its head." It's worth a try.
But if you've already tried these simple things, I can't think of any more just now. My sympathies. One finally gets a block of time in which to record and then circumstances conspire to insure that the recording cannot be done in a straight-forward manner.
Blessings,
Penny

Dear list,

I just bought some recordable blank disks from Radio Shack. When I try to record with them I'm getting a message that says "write error." I've tried to set it up for recording music, for conference, for custom, but nothing seems to do the trick. Might these be faulty disks, or am I doing something wrong, or not doing something I should be doing. Can you please help me?

Bill
