I like both Avast & MalwareBytes. Avast has saved my bacon on more
than 1 occasion & is accessible via the right-click menu w/an
occasional need for jaws cursoring. Malwarebytes comes in a free,
e.g., scan-on-demand version, & a paid realtime protection version. Be
careful about putting 2 realtime protection programs on your machine
that try to protect from the same threats, else a cyber-tug-of-war may
well ensue, neither program can do its intended job, & your protection
is actually lessened as a result.

SpywareBlaster is a free, realtime spyware protector. Spybott
Search-&-Destroy also is free & provides some realtime protection.
Superantispyware has both a free & paid version--same sort of thing as
Malwarebytes--& is very very accessible.

I've not found a really good accessible firewall solution, but, check
to see if your router has 1 built in. The advantage there is that your
processor power isn't taken up w/firewall tasks.
