Hi Tom, We a got a bunch of people involved... we'll get this worked out. Your IP links don't work for me. I have to get in through the website and have no problem playing either stream without opening any ports. If I paste either of the two links below into windows media player the stream starts immediately. I just saved them in a play list and can play them at will. http://loudcity.com/stations/ride-radio/files/show/ride-radio.asx http://mushroomfm.com/mushroomfm.asx Opening through a browser is different on my system with each browser. So of them don't work automatically for me and I'm sure it's browser plugin related. I really haven't paid any attention to streaming and haven't gone into the set up. Both sites have a selection of different stream formats. Ride Radio even has its own player. Try pasting the links above into media player and see what happens. The website for the stream is: http://www.therideradio.net and in just checking the listen link is for loudcity.com so perhaps the couple who own the stream gave it to me. Using the ActionTec GT724R and when pa.net used Verizon DSL I did not have any problems. The streaming problem started when pa.net changed to value.net for DSL. I did have to change my user name in the GT724R setup. My user name had been the e-mail address I have with pa.net. It was changed to my phone number followed by @value.net . When I first got the GT724R I had to set port forwarding for port 8000 and port 8760 before I could hear the audio streams. Those ports are still open. The problem is, I open Windows Media Player, press control "u" (open url) and type in either of the above two URLs. The player opens, and my screen reader pronounces the mouse pointer "app started" but nothing happens. Most of the time, clicking the "stop" button followed by clicking the "play" button six or eight times the audio will start. If that doesn't work, I close Windows Media Player, open it again, then go through the "stop" "play" buttons a few more times and eventually I get audio. I know computers aren't supposed to work that way, I wrote machine code and assembly for over thirty years on mainframe computers. My computer name is td. I had the same problem with VLC and the player Clint told me about. I'm going to reset the GT724R and start fresh. If that doesn't work I'll just put up with it. If the problem is between my computer and the GT724R I'd guess I'd have the same problem with another ISP. I do tend to be very loyal so don't really want to go somewhere else. Thanks for all the help. It seems like I'm the only one who ever posts to the list and it's always a problem. Glad you guys are here.
