If your monitor is working just fine, hide the update. Unless M$
rates a driver update as critical you may feel comfortable hiding it
until you have an actual problem with the old driver.

The optional software updates are non-critical updates to other M$
products like Office, Money, Works etc.

Anything M$ deems as optional is most likely truly optional. It is
also sometimes useful. In the absence of a compelling reason not to,
it is usually safe and sometimes productive to install them. I don't
know why it lists 2 updates for IE 7 when you are not running it,
unless one is IE7 and the other an update for it.
