Yeah, that's not bad compared to what it used to be, but you can get 4GB of
DDR3 for half that price. WinXP runs fine on 2GB unless you are doing video
editing or working with large databases or something that needs a lot of
RAM.

It's been a long time since I priced RAM but $76 for 4 each 1GB sticks at
crucial.com doesn't sound so bad to me. Of
course, that might be more than was paid for the computer
but.........

There are Ramdisk's that could use more, but I think there are a lot of
compatibility issues with such software, so they never really got too
popular. That PC can only take a maximum of 4GB anyway (if you use 1GB
sticks in each of the
4 slots). That older DDR2 memory is fairly expensive compared to newer
memory types.
