I can see most people either have NO idea or incorrect idea's of what the
fdisk.exe program is and or does. Thats right, it's a PROGRAM, not a dos
command.

fdisk.exe is simply an old dos program with very limited capabilities for
either viewing, creating, or removing partitions on some hard drives.
Running fdisk will NOT necessarily wipe out your hard drive.

While fdisk could be used to remove an existing partition, it can also be
used to view the current partition table of your drive and to create a new
partition, however like most things in life the user must know the
limitations of hard drive partitioning
to gain the most from this program.

There are better more versatile programs for partitioning, my long time
favorite is of course PartionMagic from power quest which allows me to
create, view, move, resize, convert formats, and delete partitions. There
are also shareware and freeware
partitioning programs. Of course with a little studying you could partition
your drive manually using a disk editor program or write your own program or
do it.
